Patrick Swayze was one of my first major actor crushes, long before I ever saw Dirty Dancing or Ghost. I cried for his character Gary Sturgis in a 1981 episode of M*A*S*H and religiously watched the short-lived The Renegades because of his "Bandit" - the character he'd played in the 1982 TV movie of the same name. 1983 gave him to me in Uncommon

I agree. Red Dawn wasn't great to begin with, despite it cast of cuties and now, because the communist threat is non-existent, they're going to film it as an A/U which is even more ridiculous. Trust me, I don't see myself rushing to see it until/unless I hear stellar reviews about Hollywood doing a better job this time around. Still, I really think JDM is a great casting choice for that character. I'm sure he'll nail it.
I haven't re-watched 5.01 again either though think I might on Weds. when space airs it. Space has gone back this season to not airing the eps until 6 days after the CW broadcast but I'm catching it on Sun Thursday at 9 still so that's okay. Mind you, once the networks start their seasons, I'll be DVRing SPN and watching it at 10:00. I didn't love the premiere but there was a lot I liked about it, mostly Jensen's Dean (his speech to Bobby and his telling Sam how he feels). We'll see how the season goes. Sounds like Kripke's waffling about a s6 now and, as much as I know Jensen likes the steady employment, I'm still hoping for bigger and better for him come '10/'11. time will tell.
