Little bit of a project update. The project has been at a standstill for the last week or two, but up until this point I got a fair bit accomplished. Aside from custom circuits, the ECU is largely done. All I have left is wiring the car up, machining some parts for the case, finish modifying the case, etc etc. You know, the hard shit.
Expansion board has been completed and now has an accelerometer attached to it.
Complete with test video.

The robotics team is moving along. We only have about 4 returning members out of 15 or so. Progress has been a little slow as none of them really have any good hands on experience. It makes me appreciate everything I had learned up until I did robotics when I was in high school and especially what I learned afterwards. It's kinda weird to be one of the experts now and things that seem trivial to me is like rocket science to the students. There are times I wish I wasn't blowing away my afternoons and half my weekends doing this, but I do at least get a little sense of self appreciation for the good it'll do those students that truly care about the problem and are interested in it. I know it did me a world of good. I hope it comes to be the same value to them.
Life has been going pretty steady here. My emotions have stabilized out again and it's been nice to finally be able to focus on other things for once. Since the xmas/new years break, I've gotten back to steadily working out again. I ended up changing some of the quantities of supplements I've been taking and it feels like it is making a difference. For a while I was cutting back on body fat, but the robotics program has me back to drinking too much soda and a semi-poor diet. Ah, just like old times. :P Maybe sometime soon I'll get around to progress pictures. I need to find myself a scale and see where I'm at.
I had to get sized not long ago to order a racing suit for LeMons. $520 for the whole shebang. Underwear, pants, jacket, helmet, neck brace, gloves, and shoes. Whew! Thank god it'll only be a legal suit for a few years and I'll maybe use it more than once... wait.
The things I do for racing.
Anyway, measurements:
Chest: 40"
Waist: 39"
Shoulders: 18"
Trunk: 29"
Sleeve: 34"
Inseam: 33"
I'm curious to see if the first three change much at all as I continue with the workouts. I know a number of my work shirts went from fairly loose to bordering snug. I find it amusingly neat. :]
Last weekend I went to a gun show. It was a free invite in exchange for helping a friend of a friend pack up his ammunition. It took up three trucks! Good lord, I was sore; that was a lot of lead and brass.
However, he had something that caught my eye, and it came home with me. Sadly, not for free.
That is a 1993 year Armi Jager, Bisley Colt 45 clone. Italian in build, but at least back then they were known for being fair quality and all the Colt parts will swap over. A couple of friends and myself are hitting up the indoor range this Sunday to test it and a few other guns out. I'm looking forward to this!
My birthday is coming up on the 30th and I think I found myself a fitting present considering the recent purchase. I've been talked into taking a conceal and carry class on my birthday and attempt to get registered. Do I intend to conceal and carry? No, but I figure it doesn't hurt to have that ability and I hear that Kansas may be revoking that privelage so it'd be nice to grand father in. Anyway, this isn't 19th century Dodge City and I'm not interested in buying a concealable gun anytime soon.
Self defense is nice and all as far as guns go, but I just want to have fun. :P
