There has to been more bad christmas music out there than any other genre. That being said, I ran across a couple of albums that are worth picking up.
1. Al DiMeola - "Winter Nights"
- for those that like multitrack albums (I don't), Al plays everthing on this record from Dumbek to Cajon... and some mofo guitar playing that we expect from ADM. A lot of great ideas to copy as he goes from eastern to western. Not the same old boring Burl Eives BS.
2. Cyrus Chestnut & Friends - "A Charlie Brown Xmas"
- this one is for the Vince Guaraldi fan. Cyrus is a much better player than Vince and Kenny Garrett, Michael Brecker, Pat Martino and others are killin' it! In fact, I think even ppl that hate jazz will like this record.
