Yes, its that time of year again. The insomnia is back. And unfortunately I have had to loan my desktop to a friend to help him stay in business. So for the last couple of days I have been reading BOOKS!
I forget how great it is to spend all day reading. I took the time to reread some of my favs a short sample of things I am currently getting reacquainted with are:
The Female Nude By Linda Nead. I have mentioned this to truckers_child about a hundred times and I have decided simply to make her read it. By gun point if necessary.
Fear of a Queer Planet. One of the seminal queer theory text containing a lot of the early essays in queer theory.
Under a Black Flag. A history pirates. Yar!
Screw the Roses, Send Me the Thorns. A book on BDSM. A sort of begginers guide. I had to stop flipping through it because it made miss Ashley.
Quick Silver by Neal Stephensen. Historical fiction. Set in Europe between 1660 and 1714. "Half-cocked" Jack Shaftoe is the king of vagabonds and one of the best "rogues" in contemporary novels.
