Must try not to get carried away. Oh, who am I kidding? I'm already carried
away! This is all just too good. Exhibits 1, 2, and 3:
1. Dot came to me for help with setting up security for her blog. No, Dot, it
wasn't too much trouble. No worries on that score.
2. I'm still blushing from all the nice things she said about me on her blog,
once I got everything set up for her. I know, I know, it's not like she was
going to say mean things about me after I did her a favor, but this was above
and beyond the call. (Note to self: watch a bunch of old episodes of "MacGyver"
so I can figure out how to build a computer out of bubble gum and paper clips.
Don't want to disappoint Dot!)
3. She said she'd come to my next softball game. Now, I'm not one to engage in
harmful stereotypes, but... come on. This is softball we're talking
about. I'm just saying, is all. Does this mean there is hope that she'll end up
playing on my team, if you know what I mean? Must ask Chip about Dot's romantic
history. Hopefully bisexuality runs in the family.
Hmm, one more thought about softball. The other day I was goofing around after
practice using TK to (try to) juggle a couple balls. I joked to S that maybe if
I developed good enough control over the ball, I could become a pitcher and use
TK to make the ball knuckle. I'd be practically unhittable! Well, S was not
amused. She said that if I tried anything like that I'd be kicked out of the
league in no time -- did I think I was the only witch in the league? There's
actually quite a large overlap in the witch and softball demographics, and they
have plenty of safeguards in place. Now, of course I was only kidding. I
would never dream of doing anything dishonest like that. But it did get
me wondering... How incognito would Dot be in such a crowd? Would she set off
anyone's mojo-dar? My guess is that she'd be okay, but it's hard to be sure.
I've done a couple magic-detection spells on her -- in a purely business,
safety first, due diligence completely non-stalkery kind of way, and she's
always come up clean. Still, maybe the fact that she could hit every pitch for a
500-foot home run would start to be a giveaway. Must think more about this.
