For anyone who has ever served in the military (and I am one of them), you know what it means to be inspected by the commanding officer. Sometimes the inspection is scheduled and you stand in parade formation in your dress greens (I was in the Army), and sometimes it's a surprise inspection in which you see the dreaded white glove come out. The point of the inspection is to show your readiness, and in the same way we are to always be ready to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and be unafraid to present ourselves to God. As we continue reading through Paul's second letter to Timothy, let us take Paul's words to heart, that we are to be faithful in all we do because Christ was and always will be faithful to his promise to us.
