So as most of you know, I joined the military as a crew chief for A-10 Thunderbolt 2 warthog's. With my job there are inherent dangers that I must deal with on a daily basis. These dangers are present regardless of the mission, base or on deployment. Every day it seems I am educated on new ways I can die purely from working on the flight line. So just to enlighten you I figured I would compile I small list of ways I can die.
NOTE: this is not meant to scare, or depress anyone. Just to inform people if the given risks of an occupation.
Cracking my head open on
- piot tubes (tubes with sensors in them)
- pile on's (hold weapons)
- fins
- 30 mm cannon
- Landing gear struts
- Open panels
- Drop hook
- Flaps
Fluids
- Hydraulic lines rupturing forcing 3600 PSI at me
- Fuel sparking and catching on fire
- Fuel lines rupturing forcing hot liquids on me
- Fuel tanks exploding
Engine intakes sucking me up in to turbine
Engine turbine exploding
Aircraft improperly jacked (aircraft falls on me)
Landing gear accidentally retract (aircraft falls on me)
Landing gear collapse (aircraft falls on me)
Landing gear wheel assembly explode (aircraft's tire blows through me)
Depleted Uranium Sickness - I.E. Cancer (from depleted uranium ammunition)
Cancer/sterility from Radar/ECM unit
