An acquaintance, reading my LiveJournal, commented that size 32 women's pants, if they existed, would be able to contain one rather portly woman and her entire family of five. The words "VW Bus" were tossed around. I was then accused of fictionalizing my account of spending the latter portion of a party in a noted local socialite's closet, and furthermore, of indulging in fictional embellishments of almost everything that appears on this journal. These accusations are entirely baseless. Surely, writers take liberties with the truth -- great writers are those who, I believe, aren't really sure themselves what is true and what is fiction, and certainly, I live my life that way. Nevertheless, in all things pertaining to this record of my life, I am doggedly faithful to reality.

And so, in my defense, I offer this irrefutable detail: the jeans in question were Diesel Brand. All those familiar with this brand of pant will understand that the women's sizes are not given in the usual, inscrutable dress-size system, but are rather measured by waist size.

Make no mistake: all the stories are true.
