what does all this amount to? conflict is eternal. we approach conflict from a particular side and seek to advance our own position, but as conflicts themselves are sustained over vast periods of time, advantages are allotted to both sides, as they improve their battle designs and sharpen their points on the very resistance they confront. But, over a larger period of time, one side is likely to take the more prominent role in an asymmetrical conflict. This has already occurred in my own country as multiculturalists have gained a seemingly permanent advantage over proponents of xenophobia and racism. But the conflict itself persists. Nor is there much hope for a decisive victory through the complete extermination of xenophobes, as xenophobia can be a learned response built into us through natural selection. And so, one essential and rising truth about human experience and the experience of all life in general, is the main catalyst of adaptation, Conflict. But, as attested to by all, conflict is inherently unpleasant and demanding.
So, Nietzsche speaks of the monster, the mighty dragon which we ourselves create so that we may engage in noble and valiant battle with them, and have an unshakeable motive to action, to boot.
