Hi guys! :)

I've been away lately for personal reasons, and probably won't be doing anything sim related for a few months more, however I would like let everyone know that the comm will stay running as usual, so keep posting and sharing your games, makeovers, and story updates here.

JIC, I'm keeping track of the comm now and have pm notifications on ( Read more... )

Good to see you popping in :) Hope your personal life is going OK or at least improves really soon if it's not going all that well. I missed seeing your posts around the traps.

I actually vividly remember playing TS2 for the first time. I loaded Pleasantview because it was the "first hood". Then I loaded the Broke household just because I was curious. And then Brandi popped and all hell broke loose. I couldn't take care of her. She died. And she died. And she died. I was exiting without saving until I learned how to take care of a pregnant sim. It was baptism by fire but I was determined to succeed. I'm really glad I stuck with it. I didn't use any cheats either. That experience gave me a really good grounding in how to take care of TS2 sims, pregnant or not. To this day I don't use cheats such as maxmotives and even though I play with debug mode on I never adjust their motives. It taught me to go with what was happening in the game and to learn to enjoy the good and the bad happening.

The Curious household was up next and I was all "OMG that male sim is pregnant!" when I saw Pascal pop. And then Vidcund went off to the telescope and got abducted, giving me another "Whoa! We're not in Kansas any more!" experience. I had no idea what would happen because in those days I was not at all involved in any part of the online community and had not searched for any information about the game. When the alien babies arrived with their tiny noses, huge eyes and green skin I was super excited about this new development.

I must say that back then I was really put off by all the fighting in Veronaville. I loaded one of the Monty or Capp households and almost immediately there was a brawl of some sort and I just got out of there. This was before I learned to actually enjoy the more dramatic and "fight moar" aspects of the game. I didn't play Veronaville until the Veronaville Asylum challenge on here, to tell you the truth.

These days I'm playing the uberhood and actually looking forward to meeting some of the sims of that hood for the first time. It's like a whole new vista opening before me, with new characters to meet and whole new areas of gameplay to explore. The Sims 2 is a fantastic game. It's still entertaining and surprising me after all these years.
