I quite like Pleasantview. It was the first hood I played, before moving on to Strangetown. There is a lot of soap opera-type drama going on but it doesn't seem to overwhelm the town. It's kind of like a something brewing in the belly of the hood and you can either let it build up or release the steam, depending on style of play. I tend to play all my hoods with multiple families on a fairly strict one week rotation, so when I play there everyone gets some love.

When I think of Pleasantview I think of the Goths and Brandi Broke. The Goths because I like Cassandra and they have that link back to the original Sims. Brandi because she was the first sim I ever played in TS2 and she kicked my butt but good! I never even started playing the other families until I had figured out how to care for a pregnant sim. Bullheaded determination and all that :)

At the beginning I didn't even know there were storylines! I kind of mucked about and did what I wanted. I tend to restart the Maxis hoods quite often so I never really got that much into the storylines. I guess you could say I dabble. Now that AL is out and the end of the expansions is in sight I'm planning on playing my own multihood where I'll just create my own, new, stories.

At first I didn't really like the townies. So I got the clean templates. I have now restored my original Pleasantview template and will do so for the other hoods, too, just so I can generate the three hoods' unique townies before creating my own multihood.

I tend to leave the families in their original houses with some minor refurnishing. I also tend to leave the furnishings at their budget levels so Brandi never really gets much past the trailer-type set-up, etc. I also always move in all the bin families and let them interact with the others as well as play them. I like the fact that they are related to the hood's families and have their own little stories to tell. I probably don't make enough use of the community lots. My sims don't go shopping much and I've never really taken them to venues all that often. That's something that I think I need to change!
