Hello, everyone.

We've decided that it would be a great idea to have a post where you can leave comments about suggestions for challenges and dares. If you look at the list of tags on the community main page, there's one called "suggestion box." If you think of an idea later, it'll be easier to find this post again.

Those are pretty good suggestions.

Hmmm... you could randomly assign the members who are up to the challenge a few Pleasantview sims, so they could write a short story/drabble or just take some pics involving them.

The twist would be to assign sims that are not "together" all the time (like Alex Goth, Mary-Sue Pleasant and Dirk Dreamer) so the challenger would have to think of a way to relate all of them in the same story.

I hope this made sense :P

Yes it did, and it's a good suggestion to mix the sims into unlikely combinations.

I like the sound of those 2 challenges.

One thing that I've really enjoyed doing in the past was redecorating the base game lot bin houses and updating their landscaping, etc, with Maxis-only content. So maybe we could have a dare where everyone shows off how they redecorate Tidy Tudor, etc? I know not everyone is into house decorating, but it would probably work OK as a weekly dare rather than a full-scale challenge.

We actually do have something like this in mind. But you're right, we shouldn't overlook the lot bin houses. We were thinking of one already placed.

Either would be fine, really. I was just thinking that the bin houses are probably more easily accessible to everyone (unless they've been deleted). The already placed houses might have sims living in them and thus harder to access without evicting the family or without spawning clean hoods. I guess whatever house gets used could be packaged up so that anyone who can't access theirs for whatever reason can install it and play around with a fresh version.

If we use playables' houses at all, we would provide clean unoccupied versions for people to download. I'm well aware of the problem of trailing character files and other game trash. I wouldn't want to bork anyone's game. We'll provide more details later.

I'd like to suggest four possible "fashion victims" for the 7th dare (that is if you are going to another "a sim or two needs a fashion change" type dare this month).

The four possible victims:

Buck Grunt

Nervous Subject

Lazlo Curious

We've moved onto Veronaville for November, but this is definitely worth coming back to in a later dare.

And you can post your own makeovers of these guys at any time, no matter what the Neighborhood of the Month is.

Maybe there could be a challenge like this:

You pick names of Maxis Sims at random (the amount of names you pick is up to you). Then you set your mp3 player or ipod on shuffle (or fast-forward or rewind through a tape cassette or CD) and press play at random. Then, you write a short story involving the characters' names you picked based on whatever lyric happened to be playing when you stopped shuffling/rewinding or fast-forwarding. Or, you could write the story based on the entire song, if you wished. This might work for any Maxis neighborhood.

It looks like it's been a while since any suggestions have been posted here, so if there is another suggestion box post, I missed it.

I don't know if this has been suggested before, and it doesn't look like it has been done before either, but I could be wrong as I have not been around all that long.

For some reason (when reading a spoiler for the upcoming season of "House"- which has really started to suck, btw) I thought of doing a photo shoot of maxis premades put into the places of actors in my favorite TV shows. Example: Vidcund Curious in the place of Captain Kirk in Star Trek, Loki Beaker as House, Lazlo Curious as "The Doctor", PT9 as Archie Bunker (LOL!,okay, so I'm running out of ideas. I don't watch a lot of TV) and so on...

I just thought maybe some others might find this a fun dare idea (or basis for a dare).
