Speaking of Strangetown: A familiar house gets some makeovers

I'm a huge fan of the MATY challenges.

And this month's House of Fail is none other than the Curious Brothers funky bunker.

I recommend you give it a look.  SalixTree did a VERY cool steam punk makeover to the house (and kept the observation decks).

Whoa. That steampunk one is AMAZING! I might have do download it myself to play around with it.

What really made that post for me though was that Pascal's son was a Maxis clone complete with huge glasses and bad teenage facial hair. I love seeing if people get the same results as I do, and what they do with them. :P

.. . though it did send our planned building dare for the month down the drain!! ROFL! still ain't the only house that desperately needs help on town, right?? ;)

Hee! You can choose any house for that challenge. I think the worst one is the Beaker house, but that may be related to my deep hatred of basements and how impossible it is to play at Nervous room.

(Same reason why I can't play the House of Fallen Leaves either)

Agreed. There are plenty of "bad" Strangetown houses in need of makeovers.

I was actually looking for a new version of the Curious house that looked more "modern/updated" for my story, but I had only found one at a polish site that was cute, but had loads of CC and never showed up in my game.

But these are CC free! And my favorite is also the Stemapunkish one, though I'll have to wait until Emma and Witch post theirs. I like their work at Laverwinkle Sims.

The MATY challenges are great - really good for getting some nice ideas on the Houses of Fail.

I liked the Steampunk one.

They also did an earlier one on the awkward house in Strangetown that's empty...I can't remember what it's called though. There were some fantastic makeovers there too.
