I'm slowly cobbling together the materials I need for Mome Fromage from across the internets, but the important thing is that the blue and aqua taffeta I need for the skirt lining has arrived, and so it's time for me to start making ruffles, since that will be BY FAR the most time-consuming part of all of this. And a part I am not looking forward to in any way. I'm glad I had the serger serviced a few months ago cause with all that hemming and ruffling (and I desperately hope I can mess with the settings enough so I can get it to ruffle properly and I won't have to do 100 yards of ruffles manually, oh god) it is going to take a beating.
I'm sure I'll hate myself for it later, but I got a cheap mass produced underbust corset so I can get started drafting the bodice as well. That should be straightforward enough, just waiting on the pink and gold brocade for the piping (and the main skirt). I'm sure G Street can hook me up if that doesn't come soon enough.
Still need: hot pink mesh, black mesh, sequins, boots, jewelry, hot pink satin; peach and cream lace, tons of black and pink velvet ribbon; earrings.
I'm thinking the version I have for Katsu is going to be a work in progress as I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to pull together all the trimmings and details (pink trim for the skirt ruffles and the matte sequins I'm going to be using to replicate the dots on the pink mesh on the original, for instance) but the major pieces should all be in place.
Or I could just make that really simple Airbender costume instead.
