FicRec-SG1 gen novel - don't miss this one!

It's been a while since I've read SG1 fanfic, and when I did in the past, it was always Jack/Daniel slash. But the rec for this story was extraordinarily enticing so I decided to try it!
And am I glad I did! What a fine, engrossing novel this is! I'm recommending it to anyone who loves SG1 and is willing to read an unflinchingly realistic exploration of the characters and situations that are there inside all the SG1 episodes. This is not romantic - it's dramatic and exciting and frightening and above all else, realistic! There's no sugar-coating of the background from which this story arises.... It's a work of art, in my opinion.
