All the Answers
Alright, so I lied. The post I made a month or so ago wasn't my last one, hopefully not by a long shot. I've been all sucked up in the Harry Potter spirit lately and I think it's hanging around, so!
I've decided I’m FINALLY going to finish All the Answers!
I know, I know, it's been like five years since I last updated it and I'm sure most people barely even remember it or what happened last, haha. But I'm actually really excited about this, because I was always mad at myself for not finishing that one.
And I've actually got kind of a PLAN here. Like, so I'm not just posting one chapter and then disappearing forever again. I'm making sure I have the next four or five chapters finished and ready to go before I start posting! And then I'll post one chapter per week, which will give me another month or so to get more written. I have the next three chapters done already, so...this is really happening! Yay!
In the meantime, I spent a few days or so revising the rest of the fic. No major changes, just a couple edits here and there, some dialogue changes, and one entirely new scene. Hopefully the revisions make the story flow a little better and give a few more hints as to the reveal that happened in a later chapter...that was the goal, anyway. Also, after looking over the super old outline I had for the fic, I made a lot of plot changes there and had to adjust some minor details in the story to make it fit.
The thing is, I started writing Answers right after the 6th book came out. So obviously it's not Deathly Hallows compliant at all, but at the same time it's hard now not to borrow some details from the actual finished canon material. For instance, I went back and expanded on some of Kreacher's parts, and some of the Horcruxes in my version might be tweaked now. And some events in the upcoming chapters WERE actually planned, I swear, but now they'll seem like I got the idea from the 7th book and in truth I did end up borrowing some minor facts from JKR to make it work better. ...But anyway, rambling, you won't know what I'm talking about till you read it!
I'm not 100% sure when I'll start posting -- like I said, I've got three chapters finished now but I want at least one more done. And they still need to be beta'd, which brings me to my next question!
...Is anyone willing to do that for me? Hahaha. Yeah, I NEED A BETA READER. I've always liked having someone to bounce ideas off of before posting a finished chapter, and it really does help me with making sure everything makes sense and is grammatically correct and all that. Obviously, I'm looking for anyone who is very familiar with Harry Potter, who's read the first 16 chapters of Answers (and hopefully wouldn't mind re-reading them now with the revisions? >.>), who's good with random British-isms and such, and most of all, who doesn't mind telling me if something is stupid or needs to be changed! It absolutely doesn't bother me at all and in fact it's really appreciated!
So...anyone up for it? :D :D?
