Ruins

Anytime I see ruins, even just a picture of something ancient, I start thinking about the home I've never seen.  I start wondering whether or not the surface of my home planet looks like the left-overs from some galactic war, and then I shove the thought aside and distract myself with something trivial.

This life... I think the most difficult thing to deal with, are the questions.  Every day, and at almost every hour, life throws a question at us, and the only thing we can do is struggle as we wait for the answers.  Who are we?  What are we?  Why are we here?

What does our future hold for us?  I think that's probably the worst question one could ask, because in every way we look at it, and regardless of how it's examined, there's only one answer.  It's honest, it's straight-forward, and the answer is cruel.  What's worse, is it's the same answer for everybody.

Life brings us pain.
