Yet another job

So it turns out that the storeman job I spoke of in my last post was more hasstle than it was worth. After two weeks they extended my trial period a further week because they weren't happy with how "slow" I was picking up the paperwork. The odd thing is that they hadn't yet given me any paperwork to fill out. I found out the following Friday would be my last day. Even though I was working harder and faster than the others who'd been there for years. It seems as if they were only using me for the period that one of the guys was on holiday and that the promise of a full time job was a hoax from the beginning. So all the seemingly endless medicals I had to go through while I was on holidays from my last job were all a waste of my valuable time, which would have been better spent with Dylan and Lisa.
So last friday I got a call from the employment agency I got the job through telling me that they couldn't convince them to keep me on not for lack of trying. Then they told me about another potential job they'd lined up for me driving a ten tonne forklift for a brickworks in Midland. Given that I'd been totally screwed by Weston milling I went to smoko at eight o'clock after the fatefull call and never came back. I wanted cause some trouble for what they did but I didn't want to walk back into the office and get upset coz I'm not a violent man and I don't think that's appropriate. So I just left them at a loose end.
I went down to check out the new job later that day and it's amazing. I get to drive a massive forklift that has a radio and air-con, I get a four day weekend every four days, being shift work and all, and I get paid much more than at Weston milling. So, more time, more money. Life's not looking too bad at the moment.
