In addition, candidates for all positions at REI must have successful work performance demonstrating an ability to communicate effectively, work well with others, use productive work methods, exercise sound judgment and display initiative and innovation on the job.
Now, I'm not sure about this position for the following reasons: the starting pay, if I would be in an office or in the retail store, working every evening and weekend, and if I would be full-time retail or full-time office. I emailed Andrea and asked those questions about the position and told her that I'm still interested in the position. On Monday, I'll see what my answers are and apply for the position. Hopefully I will be getting an interview and I'll ask some more questions about the position.
Also, I got a confirmation email from a woman named Karen Crawford, a Associate Director of Communications at the Depression Center at the Uniiversity of Michigan. She and I will be having an informational interview and we'll talk about how I can get into U of M jobs (which the benefits are super awesome), possible volunteering opportunities within U of M, and networking with other professionals! She was my mom's old boss at Thomson Medstat, but decided to leave Medstat because she got the job within U of M.
On a side note, I talked with my mom and she said her promotion was coming soon in the next month! She's super excited about this because she this is her first promotion at Blue Cross, where she will be promoted from Manager to Developement Director (a lot higher than our Development Directors at the ACS). I'm excited for her because she's going through life-changing things at her work and I'm going through life-changing things in my professional career.
