Annual Review
Good lord, I haven't posted in forever.
For those of you curious as to how my life is going, however, there is good news! While my company has had some hard times the last few years, we've stabilized enough that my boss finally got around to giving me an annual review, and, as a result, I apparently merited an 8% raise! Huzzah! :D I'll actually be able to put away more money per month, again, like I could back when I had friends renting out what were then spare rooms at my condo.
I've also been doing more design oriented work, lately, instead of the usual 'here's what we need, here's how we want it to work, go get it to work' style assignments. This is the sort of thing that can help me to reach work we can bill more for, and thus further elevate my position.
In other news, my folks' divorce finally went through, a couple of months back, though I didn't hear about it from them until a little while ago. I guess I'm glad it's finally finished, and they're no longer chucking money at lawyers in order to go back and forth over who gets how much of the little that dad owns, but I'm kind of numb about the whole thing by this point, seeing as they're at least reasonably amicable to each other. We'll see how it goes when/if Mom ends up finding somebody new.
Jim's managed to get a nice chunk of change in income by selling parts of his anime cel collection to some very interested buyers. We're hoping to pay off his car fully, and maybe even get him a new computer. He continues to light up my heart.
Entertainment wise, Phil and James and I have been doing a fairly regular run of Starcraft 2 3-vs-3 on Friday nights. We're continuing to slowly but steadily claw our way up the ranks.
Also: Portal 2 was awesome. Now I just need somebody to do Co-Op mode with. Volunteers?
