Details :
I was rear-ended by a large blue truck on Cyress-Rosehill, just before the light at HWY 290.
The guy pulled up along side me, glanced in my window (I presume to make sure I was still conscious), and then drove off. No, I didn't get his license plate number or anything.... I was still dazed from the impact and fumbling for my glasses, which had been knocked off from the force of the hit. I was doing between 35-40 mph, as I had just started to slow down for the light. No clue how fast he was going.
He did at least $2800 in damage (that's what the adjuster could see at a glance, and that's a quote assuming we used salvaged parts from a junkyard).
They totalled out my car, and didn't give nearly enough money. In all fairness to Progressive, though, they did give me more money than I was expecting to get if they totalled it out. Not sure I'm going to have enough to rent a truck to move, register my already totalled car and pay off the court fees from my ticket (for no registration, a completely unrelated event), and buy a new car.
Oh yeah, did I mention I'm moving out of my apartment at the end of the month. Not exactly sure how I'm going to manage it now, but I'm sure I'll come up with something.
Physically, I'm fine, just a little bit achey is all. My back hurt for two days, but it hurt all last week and I had just gotten over it prior to the accident.
Hopefully, that answers everyone's questions for now.
