I think the thing airports do best is ease the pain of a loved ones departure.
Basically by the time the Big Moment comes, youve been standing up for an hour and a half, you're hungry, and you're wondering whats for lunch, so you're kind of desensitized to the whole process. Its like the building is saying "Hey man, could be worse. You might never be able to sit down, ever".
So with that, Michelle is off into the sky for the next 13 hours. Its saddening :(
Still, I have a passport and 200 Euros sitting on my desk next to a stuffed Brisbane lions mascot named "Alistair", so I turn to them in my moments of despair (so far I've had 3).
On a lighter note, Michelle didnt leave the country without joining the Southside Irony in an absolute demolition of a Netball Grand Final match. After an unbeaten record this season, they put their final mark on the Valley Sports center with a 38 - 8 (give or take) point flogging of some team called "Follow Your Dreams" or "Do Your Best" or something. Went they went up 12 - 3 in the first 10 minutes, we started watching the soccer game on the next court.
Smitty got Man of the Match for his insane aerial bullshit playing style (aka Smitty-Ball), which he combined with Rollys similar talents and some kind of ESP tracking link between the two to leave the opponents totally bamboozled.
