Pixies in the garden . . .

What does one DO with pixies in the garden? What if one IS the pixie in the garden? Lately, I've been pondering those lovely inhabitants fom the realm of Elphame and my relationship(s) to them. Faerie is just one of those obscure subjects that fascinates me. Entire mythologies - both cultural and literary - that influence. The current influence they seem to be exerting in my worldview is that of those pesky piskies . . .

I went to see The DaVinci Code this evening. It was a bit slow in some areas, but overall I enjoyed it. I found the pace enjoyable as it allowed for processing context. But then much like the character of Robert Langdon I hold that power is inherent in symbol. Symbols evolve based on filters applied to them by generation and culture. For some, a symbol may be inherently have a 'negative index' ('evil') based on the mythos of one's culture; while for others a symbol with a 'negative index' is completely foreign. A bit like history - who writes it? And what is the filter being applied to it? Or cultural taboos - mine, theirs, yours.

Next up is "The Last Stand" Good mutuants v. bad mutants v. helpful humans . . . But what if I like being an anthropomorphic fuzz bucket with amazing super powers? Okay? And what if I'm perfectly okay with the fact that I may have thoughts about Logan and his Adamantium (sp?) Ginzu blades that are not precisely pure?

Ah well. I'm sure everything will be just fine in the long run.
