Carpe diem is a phrase from a
Latin poem by
Horace (Odes 1.11). It is popularly translated as seize the day,
Well today our church had a chance to Seize the day, but they didn't. Today we met with our "CMTs" Cooperative Ministry Teams as we usually do every other month. Well when the meeting was over, they needed to decide where to have the next meeting. Now let me just say, the church in Crystal City is great and their hospitality is fabulous, but its time to move the meeting somewhere else. So i recommended that we have it at San Pablo, but NO one said a word. I mean were making all these improvements to our church, and the chance they get to show it off and host a meeting, they dont. I just get pissed off cause just look at what i did with the YAs, they never thought in their wildest dreams that the Southern District would be meeting at San Pablo. And i felt extatic about that. But when it comes to hosting CMT meetings, its always no, it just gets to me. I mean were trying to get our name out there as the church to be and attend, but when it comes to having meetings there for our district or conference, they just shut down and say no.
It just shows you that our church really doesnt want to move in the direction that it wishes it does. I know i probably wont be there for long,( I hope, when my plans fall into place) but for now its my home, and im just mad cause they didnt "have the balls" and say that we wanted to host the next meeting. So instead its another trip to Crystal City in January, oh God.
So thats why im disappointed in my church tonight. Well not necessarly the church, but the congregation that went to CC, they really let me down, in not showing leadership and taking the bull by the horns and hosting the next meeting.
so thats it. Comments are welcome!
