My tradional lard update can be found not here but over at maviskeefwar. It's the age old strugle between 4 trips to the gym, 1 swim, 1 knackering and a 5km walk against far to much beer, far far to much cheese and a curry. So run over to maviskeefwar to find out the victor!
Weekend stuff
Friday was Charlie and the chocolate factory which I would rate as excellent. Go see it. I've seen one bad review from a friend - but I'm afraid I must disagree. I emerged with a smile on my face.
Saturday was one of those days when most of the plans went wrong. The two sculputres I really wasnted to see at the sculputre park one was not working (the sound garden) and the other was shut (the tower). Unfotunetly I really don't do abstract very well so most of the sculputres were lost on me. So it turned into a very nice walk - unfortunetly it was a very cold walk which some how sunk deep into my bones and left me cold and depressed sitting on bitvacous sofa. The normal route against such things is of course a hot drink - but I don't do tea or coffee and was avoiding a hot chocolate for the lard factor. I did in the end give in and felt a world better...
We'd sensibly decided against a trip to the cheese and beer festval since that really would have been dragging the diet outside and shooting it in the head. That's when the mobile went and suddenly bitvacous had to go into land lady duty. Which took about 2 hours out of our quiet night in together, so while the lovely IS ran round landladying I cooked some roast chicken, roast pots, and general roast vegtable (fantastic food - little heavy on the oil then WW would like but still pretty light). We then tried to watch team america world police which failed due to region problems, then I heart huckabies which failed due to NTL problems.
But despite all of the above, I would like to make it clear I had a very good time....
Sunday badminton which was cool - including a very good game by me and Jim against Nick and Matt which we one. Then onto Zal'Furak and my first trip into an high level instance on WoW. It was cool. having to batter your way through the monsters, handling patrols. We had a rather odd party set up and suffered in some palces. One of the quest also appeared to be bugged - in that he was spawning extra monster at a horrific rate far more then he should have been.... Out of the seven quests we had to do, half of them remain undone and I'll need to head back. However the experience was fantastic fun, and also got me to level 49....
I then got the document from attack_monkey, read it, thought about it, and then went tearing off down random mad thought process. I think I'm writing a decent and interesting game design document - I just might not be writing the one he wants....
