Sorry all, I realize I've been avoiding my avid fans...well, all three of you at least. You probably aren't aware of this, but I work at Washington Navy Yard. Granted, the building I work in is on the other side of the base from where the shooting happened, but that is where I work. I happened to have been on my regular day off on Monday, so I was home all comfy-cozy when the events went down. This also means I didn't have my car stuck on base, which is very nice. Everyone who was there had to leave their cars behind when they eventually allowed to leave, and only today are they allowed to go pick up their vehicles. At the moment, only mission essential personnel are being allowed to come into work, so anyone who has to pick up a car has to leave immediately. The base is still being treated as a crime scene.
Anyway, all is well here. I'm just hanging around waiting until we're able to go back to work. My co-workers, as far as I know, are all safe and accounted for. I did know a couple of people at NAVSEA, but I haven't had any contact with them for a couple years, so I don't know if they were caught up in the mess or not. I'll have to ask around when we go back to work. So yeah...fun stuff.
