My Only Friend, the End.
Here we are the end of November; the end of NaNo. This year I hit 50k on Sunday (the 27th for those of you playing at home). I took a break yesterday and today (mostly because I couldn't remember how much to send to myself at work LOL), but there's still some story to go.
The funny thing is, when I started out on the second half of this project, it didn't look like I would get much beyond 30k words on it. It was drawing near the end, the chapters were kind of short, and I was just kind of thinking it would end more abruptly. Then I got more ideas, I realized things needed to be explained and resolved, and that the bad guy needed more of a presence. Suddenly, I was at 50k and there are still three or four more chapters that need to be written!
So, I still have some work to do to finish the story, and then it will require a major revision because some of the terms I use are inconsistent, and I need to work out some of the dialogue style for some of the characters. I also have to put a little more information toward the beginning. In the end, I hope to have a story that's suitable to try for publishing. If anyone is interested in reading (after I've revised!), please let me know. I'm always happy to have good citiques.
So, that's it for NaNo this year. What's going on in the rest of my life? Hum...well, work is work, nothing special there. I just bought some new RAM and a video card for my computer so I can join the ranks of players of awesome newer games everywhere. If the new bits work, I hope to be playing Skyrim on my computer. If they don't, then I'll just get Skyrim for PS3. I guess that's about it.
