Thoughts
Got way too many thoughts running through my head right now. I doubt I'll be able to put much down.
I have a new friend on LJ, slashaddict. She joined my group, lds_furry just recently, which is how I met her. She is investigating the LDS church and she posted in her journal about it. I was somewhat surprised at the level of negativity, and in some cases outright hatred, against organized religion in general. I expect it to some extent against the LDS church, especially because gay marriage was mentioned, but to see it so generally applied is sad to me.
There was also one poster in particular that was posting against the church in particular that just made scratch my head. He linked to a wikipedia article about LDS views on sexuality saying it was a destructive practice of the church. Now, it wasn't talking about gay marriage views or anything, just about the LDS view that you shouldn't have sex out of wedlock and that the purpose of sex is procreation but also enjoyment for married couples. Frankly, I don't see how such a view could be destructive. And I even could see that expanded to include gay marriage sex if the current conservative leadership of the church could be persuaded to accept gay marriage. Loosing President Hinkley really was a blow.
Anyway, I'll post this for now and we'll see if I get inspired to post some more.
