Yesterday AM I met Guillaume in the library and met two of his friends, Charlotte and some of guy that's in my class too. When I was them all, even Guillaume who i've barely said two words to outside of text messaging, I had to do that kissy cheeck thing with all of them. It was so awkward. haha. But they are all really nice and Guillaume and Charlotte invited me to lunch with them and I went with them after while they got café. They asked me lots of questions about the US and things there, and my university and the differences. We talked about movies and music and places in france. I had a good time.
After, the education class I might switch to got cancelled (natually) and my theme class was ridiculous. It's translating French to English, and I'm glad the teacher didn't call on me cause I don't know some of the French words, but when the teacher tried to give examples of how things are said in English, it was really funny. First, she speaks English with a Bristish accent, and she kept saying the word "bloody." haha. Then one of the students asked about the difference between stranger and foreigner, and asked if the word alien was ok too. Then the prof started talking about aliens having sex and how the British have hot water bottles. I really have no idea.
Walked back from school ( and will have to walk to and from school tomorrow i think cause i heard there's going to be another bus strike, just cause they feel like it), and met up with some of the Notre Dame kids (met them Monday night for a girl's bday in the group...I'm meeting lots of other americans due to ppl in my group having roomates who are in other groups, etc). Then I went with Kerri to H+M and got a bag that doesn't say American on it! yay! :-) Debbie came over and we were gonna make pasta, but it took too long and we were going to go to a student night with Natalie at the Protestant Church here, but turns out it was at 7pm, not 7:30pm, and no one was there, so I think they met there and then went somewhere else. So... we ended up going to this international student meeting thing in town and it was fun. Met some french girls and german girls, and then later a group of Italians, one of which debbie and I had met on the library tour. One of the girls in the group is really good at English and French too, and she learned French just from living here last semester! One of the guys in the group though spoke a mixture of broken English, French, and Italian to use. It was funny trying to decifer what he was saying. Then when we were leaving he said, "see you at the fuck!" and he meant "see you at the Fac" (for faculty which is another way to say university here). hahaha.
