Gym boy has a name and I know it. We got chatting after the class last week and I'm going again tonight. Last week's class nearly killed me and I could barely walk the day after, but worth it.
Pub crawl was lots of fun. The crawl began with about 40 people, but by the time we hit the last village we were up to about 75. Saw a few people who I don't think I have seen in 5 or 6 years now and some of them looked shocking. An old member of the crowd (not sure I would call him a friend particularly) walked up behind me and tapped me on the shoulder and I nearly fainted when I saw him. He looked haggard - how can this happen to people?
Moderated my drinking this year as I just didn't think I could manage 14 pints anymore. I'm making a concerted effort to reduce my drinking as of now. I read today that alcohol related deaths in the UK are up 18.4% and it is hardly a surprise. Not until I returned from Australia did I truly realise how much English people can put away. 14 pints is roughly 20 maybe 21 schooners. Quite a few people did that and then had a few more after. I settled myself to a relatively moderate 10 pints, which is still my recommended weekly alcohol intake consumed in 12 hours. It's a start of sorts.
