It's been an eventful week. Last Friday I got a call to invite me for an interview in Oxford yesterday. Oxford is about an hour on the train from London, but it is a very attractive place and somewhere I could move to. The first interview went well and fingers crossed for getting to the second round. I have to say that everything went right and I felt luck was in my favour. I had heard about the company by chance whilst reading an article in the business section of the Sunday Times. I told him about this and he seemed very impressed. I didn't add that I normally never get round to reading the business section and the main reason I end up looking at it during the week is find the sport.
Speaking of sport, I had my first outing for three and a half years to a football match. My friend Louise had free tickets to QPR vs Nottingham Forest. QPR is a west London team that I have been to see play about ten times now, despite the fact that i am a Huddersfield and a Southampton fan. I go to QPR because Louise is a fan. Turned out to be a great day as we got tickets in the chairman's box and this meant free food and drinks and a great view. Bring it on I say. QPR won 2-1 and that means Nottingham Forest are relegated. How the mighty have fallen - I remember when Forest finished third in the top league in 1994 and now they fall to division 3. I did feel sorry for them though. I still have painful memories of Huddersfield being relegated in 2001, just before I left England. Worst match of my life and I lost £60 betting on them.
Nervous times ahead though for Southampton - two matches left and they could still get relegated for the first time in 30 years. I shall be very edgy this Saturday. I think i'm going to go to a pub with the boys and watch it. We can all be nervous together. I still remember when we stayed up in 1997 - it was one hell of a party.
