Just call me Ms. M.
First day of school is over and done and some conclusions can be drawn.
1. 5:30am is really fucking early. (Have to be at school before 7)
2. The first day of classes is mayhem for teachers. (The kids seem to enjoy it though.)
3. They still can't manage to spell my name correctly. (They are getting closer with each try, but hence the Ms. M comment.)
4. Because I won't actually start working with my students until next week, I'm a glorified lunch lady for 2 hours a day this week. (I am not cut out to be a lunch lady, although I did get the snapping of fingers and turn around gesture down pat by the end of my tour of duty.)
5. I am really, really, really lucky to be at the school I am at. (Some of the transfer teachers' were telling horror stories.)
And now I am going to rewatch last night's Sherlock and squee. Thanks to
lamardeuse for the awesome new Sherlock icons that I snagged.
