(no subject)
I think I finally practiced my new song, "Forget That I Loved You," to the point of it being ready for ears other than my own. lol. The chords are easy, I just find it hard to sing and play at the same time for some reason. and i also feel that it would just sound sooo much cooler with bass and drums and keyboard or something.
Also, I have an even newer song in the works called "The Song Remains The Same" (i'm on a 5-word title pattern it seems), which is essentially done since it doesn't have a bridge. I just need to go over the structure. I'm anxious to record this one because i have some crazy harmonies in my head.
3 pages (front and back) left in The Big Red Book: Volume 2.
i just might cry when I'm done with it and I have to move on to Volume 3
which is alot less ripped up and drawn on.
but it will be unrecognizable by the time i'm done with it, of course.
it's just 4 important years of my life are in that book.
add my livejournal entries to the BRB Vol. 2 and you've got a good Kailey Billings character study. :P
i studied my head for biology today.
so i better do well tommorrow.
The EP Release party on Friday was sooooo much fun.
very tiring though. I was there from 5pm-2am. didn't get to bed until 3.
i love the Cane Records people.
I got my makeup done. tres fab. and lots of it too.
lots of people asked if I was opening (how nice of them!) and I was like "um...I would totally sell my firstborn to perform at an event like this."
Bridget's sweet electro-folk band played as the opener to Kyle Crossland. they were pretty darn brilliant. i'm jealous and worried.
lots of people were smoking, so i felt pretty ill for a good portion of the time.
I really couldn't avoid them since I was working.
saturday morning i had a pretty sore throat, but I'm good now.
met a guy named Shazam...no seriously. :)
and I convinced him to buy Kyle's physical CD instead of just getting it on iTunes.
all he had was canadian money for some reason, so he borrowed money from his friend (who happened to be from Prague and said he met Kelsey last semester when she went to a party with lauren when she visited. lol)
i'm currently experimenting with alternate tunings.
summer can't come too soon.
