YAY!! OMG it's SO addictive it's sad. Wasn't it long?! I almost felt at times that she wanted it longer because some stuff felt crammed in there. :O

See, I liked that Bella adjusted so well (and LMAO about our OotP comment!!!!). I've always felt that she was destined to be a vampire (for so, so many reasons) and so to me it was completely natural for her to take to it so well and so immediate. Actually my favorite part of the book was when she was learning to become a vampire!

Renesmee is a lame-ass name, though I'm no fan of 'Bella' either (Meyer needs a lesson on less MarySue-ish names!).

I'm just going to C&P what I commented to Beck down there:

Overall, I liked it. It wasn't as gripping to me as the rest of the series, but I still was page-turning and needed to finish. It all wrapped up nicely, which is what I was expecting. Mag had the perfect words for it - that it finished and didn't leave me wanting more, which was a good thing.

Part of it taking place from Jacob's pov was definitely odd, though she did set us up for it in the last book. And I understand why it had to be done to keep the story moving (I mean, how boring would it have been to be in Bella's pov during that time?). And he is funny as a narrator. I already had a feeling he was going to imprint in this book and it just made sense to me that it was with Reneesme.

I felt a lack of Edward in this, which was somewhat disappointing.

I said to Mag earlier tonight that the sexual tension between Bella and Edward wasn't there in this book either. I felt their actual sex was SO glossed over (I'm sure Meyer did that because of the YA audience) too quickly, which just made it seem less exciting. It was nothing like the scenes in Eclipse. Nnnghkkgghhh.

What are more of your thoughts on the book?

Mm, she did rather avoid the sex, didn't she? (Though I lol-ed at the pillow-shredding bit.)

I really like Jacob narrating; I like seeing the vampires through eyes not as biased as Bella's (or rather, biased in the opposite direction). And I love how Seth and Ed became lil friends... aww. :-)

To be honest, the damn kid and her stupid name annoyed the crap out of me! It was so, so fanficcy... but I guess she served a purpose; poor Jake needed *someone* to imprint on, and the gory Rosemary's-baby style birth ended up being a catalyst for Bella being vampirised, so I guess I can live with it.:-)

(But Renesmee, honestly. All I could think of every time I read it was Smee, that little pirate fella from Peter Pan.)
