Jim picked me up at work to go to lunch on his way home from the follow-up interview today (which went very well, btw, so it sounds like the job's in the bag *doesn't uncross fingers just yet*). We go to Arby's (I know, how healthy of us) and I've got some extra time, so when we get home to drop him off I decide to come in for a few minutes.

I approach the living room and am met with a very interesting site.

One couch-back cushion on the floor. The ball of yarn attached to my cardigan sleeve and needles for the piece I am currently working on, strung across the couch (I usually just leave it sitting on the end of the couch rather than putting it away every day), and various other things strewn about the floor.

Upon further inspection I discover that the needle that was in my work is now out of my work and has a mysterious bend to it (it's bamboo and pliable). Very luckily the work hadn't been ripped out at all, just looked like the needle had been slid right out aside from a few stitches at the end that had been ripped back a row.

....

It only took me about five or ten minutes to fix, but WTF?! I told Porter that if he wanted to learn how to knit, mommy would gladly teach him, but PLZ TO NOT BE TOUCHING MOMMY'S KNITTING KTHX.

And a very happy birthday to wickedevra (even though it's already past your b-day there)!

ETA: Jim just messaged me to let me know that while Jim was sitting in the living room Mr. Porter Robertson decided it would be a REALLY great idea to climb up on the couch and have a little lie down!!!!

*ded*

Our dogs have never been allowed on our furniture, but I guess aoife_ife was right that the time would come when they would test those waters on the couch...

Jim said he just stared at him and watched him do it in awe. Then he realized what was happening and yelled at him. Porter (very vocal little dog that he is) started grumbling at Jim, which is what he does when he is frustrated/angry. OMG that dog. *raises fist* It's a DARN good thing he's so cute.
