time for a random poll
Well, it's been awhile since I've done a random poll. While waiting at the doctors today, I was reading all the notices on the wall. There was a very detailed flyer for Gift of Life, which is the local (perhaps national?) organ donation organization. I've always been rather indecisive about this myself. I have heard (and am not sure if it's true) that if you sign up your body could be tested on in say a university as opposed being used for actual donation, which has always bothered me. I like the idea of helping someone out who needs it more than myself, but on the other hand, I don't want to be hacked up and gawped at. So I'm pretty much undecided about the whole thing.
I'm being a complete American knowing nothing of other countries, but I'm assuming that organ donation is done everywhere or at least most other countries? If that's not the case, please enlighten me! It's also my understanding that some religions prohibit it (again, being an idiot here and not knowing which ones).
