I've seen three films this week, and here is what I think of them.
Knocking on Heaven's Door
The theme is a bottomless well receiving both worthy and unworthy spits, if you forgive the expression. The first to come to mind mind was The Feed, by MT Anderson, but that's just because it's a book I like.
Here we have two ruggy Germans having a beatnik fairytale with a happy ending. Why did they give the film that title remains a mystery to me. The song is about being tired of war, and though the scene with the Carloses&Ahmeds vs. two dozens police cars is impressive in its senselessness and stupidity... well maybe. Maybe it's right.
I'm growing slightly bored with the utopism&romanticism of the like: hijacked skyblue mercedezes, cigarette smoke, dutch prostitution and tequila sunsets. I don't mind, not at all, but for my own stupid reasons I'll never smoke, and I'll never see how a bottle of alcohol adds to the grandeur of the ocean. Sometimes I wish I could learn how it feels, but, after all, every one has their own madness.
I liked the actors though. They're both totally cracked, I happen to like that.
I appreciate that people still make and watch (I hope) this kind of fairytales. As long as people believe in fairytales, I guess we've got something to hold on to. Besides, I've got to admit, it got me laughing several times, that's not bad at all.
p.s. O_o! I'd give my mother a cadillac myself if she cared for Elvis. Or pink.
Dot the I
Er - sorry. The program has effected an impossible operation and will be now closed.
No. Just no. Exactly everything I dislike about spanish-speaking culture. This new-age carmen story didn't move me in the slightest. The plot was not bad, of course, but it doesn't make it up for me.
Dirty Dancing 2: Havana Nights
Oh yes. OH YES. I wonder exactly how americans can sometimes nail those things. I always wish I were blonde, and all spanish/latin guys were so noble and so damn good at dancing.
I hope there will be a worthy partner for me sometime. It's unbelievable to dance. My mother, for instance, dances hellishly well, partly because of that temper of hers. So far I've only seen a couple guys in real life that dance well, as in really really spark it up. One other guy said he wanted to learn how to do that. I hope too we'll get a chance to dance sometime.
There's something very true about dancing, in the way it resembles real life. "You'll never win unless you give in." =Р) It represent the whole point of the relashionship between a man and a woman. Going back to the Bible, actually: a woman must submit to the man as Church submits to Jesus, and this last will protect and lead her, and be the only one. Something along these lines, anyway. Well, let me tell you, if there is a man able to bend, twirl and wield me, and not let me down, let him come along, and, given that he proves it, I'll submit. Despite all my claims about equality and my undroppable habit (slash amusement slash curse) of arguing with every male in the radius of ten meters, give or take, with the exception of my father, whom I don't argue with on ideological grounds. After all it's great to be able to trust and move together to the rhythm of the world.
Okay, concluding: me drools over the dancing. It's fantastic.
p.s. Perhaps I should be more occupied with international conflicts, but you know, a revolution without dancing is a revolution not worth having, right? (V for Vendetta)
p.p.s. And there's this thing about people who do things excellently. (У нее была страсть ко всем людям, которые делают что-либо первоклассно. Мастер и Маргарита) Or: You're never seen me fight before, have you? - No. - You're going to want to sleep with me even more after this. Draco Veritas, CC. See the point?
I was so impressed with the last that I made a batch of icons from the stills.
