because it's been a while and suddenly felt like I had to; mixtape

The things that happened to me this summer have almost completely obliterated my five months in the U.S., at least emotionally. I do remember everything quite clearly, of course, and music is part of that. This music in particular is my New York and my D.C. and my San Francisco and pouring rain in LA and driving down to North Carolina in a car loaded with a week's worth of food for fifteen people (i.e. sitting inside the food, tbh). Not every song has a specific place association, some have to do with people I met and, and people back home and new music I fell in love with that just happened while I was over there (like Lisa Hannigan's Sea Saw and The Whitlams). And I don't really want to talk about it anymore, but I do want to share.

For the cover art I used stills from Third Star, because they're gorgeous and about stars and about not reaching your destination or not having one, in the end. (For the record, the bottom one & corresponding moment in the movie is the finest piece of photography ever and my heart does flips every single time I see it.)
