lets play catch up!
This weekend i was at Nick Kinni (friend since 1st grade)'s river house with Blaise (real name, real apt), Nick, his ma and pa, his gramma and her boyfriend, his younger brother and two of his friends. listened to a lot of G-Unit (when a dude has to go on TV and explain how sorry he is for using bitch to describe a woman, pop culture will begin to be able to look itself in the mirror), caught a couple fish, drank several beers, fell off a couple sea doos, and had a good ol' boy, jimmy buffet, miller and marboloro light kind of time. Sometimes white privelage can be amazing... the key is to remain unconcious of it. The whole while i had to try and ignore this 7x2 inch part of my thigh that doesnt have any skin on it. FLASHBACK 5 days: I was climbing up on to my roof to transfer these 3 marijuana plants to protect my dad's sensitivities when I lost my grip and fell on top of a picket fence. Thankfully im almost kind of tall now and the fence didnt sodomize me but instead ripped off a good hunk-a-skin-'n'-flesh from my left thigh. What makes this story so interesting is FLASHBACK 10 years or so, and my dad is jumping over the very same picket fence over which my brother kicked a soccer ball. He makes it the way there, but on the way back he stumbles before he jumps and one of the pickets in the fence cuts through about a foot of flesh and nerves in his calf, all the way to his bone. Luckily after a really impressive number of stiches his leg recovered nicely but the lesson didnt resonate as thouroughly as it should have in me, apparently. I look even worse with a comparison: DAD cuts leg saving misguided soccer ball. DREW cuts leg planting marijuana in a gutter. Different strokes for different folks, i guess.
Anyway, dealing with my leg was kind of lame (badoooooom CHI!!!!) but I did have a blast this weekend. Tomorrow is pop's birthday and so im cooking, wrapping, and McFly-hanging all memorial day long. Tuesday is the first day of my fireworks job, and so from here untill july 11th or so I will be CONSTANTLY working, but making 1,500 a week. Hopefully I will be able to deal. Teresa is rocking it up in Peru, and things are good... and thats about it.
