Had an excellent time in Germany, first time visiting Berlin which was most interesting, if you find yourself there I highly suggest the free walking tours, we walked around for almost 4 hours and the guide was excellent (they have to be as they work for tips only)
Much beer was drank and yummy german food consumed, I think I put on a kilo or 2 there :)
Leipzig festival was fun as well, though a bit short as we left on the Sunday so I had a mini half festival.
Of the +/- 200 bands playing I managed to see 4 :o)
VNV - Not bad but I think they work better in smaller venues.
L'ame Immortelle - pretty good but the sound was shoddy, I liked their relaxed attitude with the 2 singers disappearing and returning.
Project Pitchfork - Alright, I wasn't really enjoying the concert much.
Current 93 - I really enjoyed them, the singer reminded me of a hobo, raving and prophecisinig the apocalypse, but this one was accompanied buy a 10 musicians :)
All in all Leipzig was short but fun, still managed to fit in a night at the moritzbastei and half a day drinking mead in the viking village and a bit of giggling at the victorian outfits being ruined by the rain. I think it will be a few years before I go back though, next year I may try mera luna, recently their lineup has been so much better than WGT, e.g. the prodigy are headlining this year!
