jesus christ, i am happy.
so far so good, though, i'm not in debt, and i have seventy bucks left to last until next wednesday, and a day off soon. i've probably shoplifted about thirty dollars worth of spices from a chain store, though.
i work 40 hours a week in a puzzle store. kate is a waitress. we're working on a split poetry zine together. my friends are coming to visit next month, and there are two house shows booked for our living room in a week and a half. i got us both affordable bikes from used sales, and we almost never use the car. i don't want to live in ohio ever again. it's pretty clear that just about everywhere is better, in my opinion. living with my friends max and liz feels too good to be true. it very well may be.
hand to mouth
hand to mouth
hand to mouth
five minutes from the beach, five servings of fruits and vegetables a day, five bikes in the yard; four in working order
i wanted to tell you, when you were washing the dishes
that you were as beautiful as i had ever seen you
but i know you would never believe it
sometimes i worry there isn't much art left in me
but then i feel the life of a hundred painters when i see people gawking at the ocean
across streets of commerce, past sale signs, through delivery trucks like they were ghosts
clutching their backpacks with tiny sandwiches, wilted carrots
staring at the sea
all of the tied up dogs outsides stores
waiting for their people to come back
it's been raining
i grin on my bike every day
how good it feels
to not be able to take your eyes off of something, off of anything
