So this is the summer that I really want to scream. Family has been drama...bad drama. Work still has drama (not the same thing as last time, but new drama)...and I just want it to be the 23rd so I can go back to campus.
Work drama right now is a new worker. I don't know if I have said this before, but I work in a Jewish grocery. Our new worker is a kid, 16, and he's from a religious family and mummy owns one of the Jewish brands (for those of you who don't know, Jewish brands are kinda like a store brand, but strictly kosher...they make canned food, condiments, baking goods, dried beans and soup mixes, etc). The new kid also feels entitled to basically do nothing...he maybe shops one or two orders, and hangs around the back or go on delivery runs (he doesn't drive, so way take him on routes?). And all of us are getting annoyed with the fact he doesn't want to work. On Wednesday, we got orders for a charity organisation (they order several times a week individually by their sponsored people - family services, children's homes, camps, etc) and it was the last one of the day, the boss of my department told us to split up the order by three people. I handed the new kid the shortest page (maybe about 20 items of 9 things) and he walked away from me and ignored me, one of the other girls (girl A from the first post), joined me in telling him. He only shook his head and continued walking. It turns out the department boss asked him to do something...well, instead of seeming like a jerk, he should have said something.
Well, I'm hoping for a good day. I got my room assignment and I have a new roommate, an American born Chinese girl. I spoke to her last weekend and we decided to meet today. We're both excited and are going to the Japanese bookstore in NYC, the Japanese sweet shop, and having dinner at a Thai place. We both love Thai food...and Bones. She's seen some Doctor Who and said she wants to see more and next month when Avengers comes out, she wants to see it. I try to be hopeful every year when I get my room assignments, after two Septembers of duds...yeah...
