Chapter Five
And Please Give a Warm Welcome to My Very, Very Good Friend...Alexander Noyes.
Oh, Hey...That's Me.
“Alright guys, it’s our job to get the party started tonight. I mean, I know that we’re no Jonas Brothers,” Michael paused and smirked at the uncontrollable screams from the crowd. “But,” he continued. “We like to try our best to put on the best pre-party possible, so everybody put your hands up like this!”
Michael started clapping, so I started to hit the bass drum at the same time that he clapped.
“That’s very good, I think the Jonases will be happy with you guys’ rhythm.” Michael said. Again, the crowd screamed. “Now,” Michael said, walking across the stage and over to me. To my surprise, he stepped up on top of the bass drum. “I’d like to say that you should please give a warm welcome to my very...very good friend, Alexander Noyes, on drums!”
I smiled as the entire arena cheered...for me.
I looked at Michael. “Thanks.” I mouthed.
“Anytime.” Michael winked. “So guys,” Michael said to the crowd. “Along with Mr. Noyes we’ve got Mr. Jason Rosen on keys and guitar,”
“WHOO!” Jason shouted as the crowd cheered.
“And we’ve got Mr. Andrew Lee on bass.” Michael finished.
“YEAH!” Andy exlclaimed.
Michael smiled back at me. “And I am Michael Bruno, and together we are Honor Society. Thank you so much for having us tonight, we’ve got one more song for you guys, and I’m pretty sure that most of you will know it.” Michael turned back to the mic and started to sing. “You were always the girl, who would give me girl advice, whenever I needed it...”

“Another great show, as usual.” Andy beamed, in front of us, walking backwards down the hall.
“Why are you walking backwards?” Jason asked him.
Andy shrugged. “Cuz I’m different.” At that very moment, he ran into an empty cart. “Ow.” he said.
Michael looked at me. “That’s a good example of a bad different, I believe.”
“Actually,” I said. I pointed at Andy, who was now laying on his stomach on the cart, rolling down the hall.
“WHOO! YEAH!” Andrew exclaimed.
“I’m pretty sure that’s a good different.” I told Michael.
“That’s a confusing different.” Michael remarked.
“Andy’s just confusing.” I nodded.
“Psh, yeah...” Jason said.
We looked over at him awkwardly.
“Do you even know what we’re talking about, Jay?” I asked him.
“Nope!” Jason replied. “And I’m also kind of feeling like a third wheel for some reason. It’s not like you guys are dating, so I really don’t know why. But uh, imma go change...” Jason turned and went into his dressing room.
“Is Jay on to us?” Michael whispered to me.
I laughed. “No. He just always feels awkward.”
Michael nodded. “Yeah he kind of does. I think we should get him a girlfriend.”
I gave Michael a weird look. “Well that was random.”
“He’s very lonely.”
“Let’s hook him up with Andy.” I shrugged.
Michael made a disgusted face. “Ew. No. How would it look for a whole band to be dating each other? And we’re all guys.”
“Oh yeah. That would be...weird...” I agreed. “Wait, we’re not officially dating yet.”
“Um, I mean...well...do you....want...to...?” Michael asked me cautiously.
I looked around. No Andy or Jay in sight. I turned back to Michael and smiled. “Yeah I’d like that.”
Michael blushed. “Um, yay.” He laughed. “Actually, more than yay. Awesome!” Michael looked around quickly, then jumped on me and hugged me. “I still can’t believe you understand...and I really can’t believe you...like me back.”
I smiled. “Well I never really realized that I liked you until I read that-” I stopped dead.
Oh...shit.
Michael pulled away and looked at me. “You read...?”
“I read...” I tried to think of something besides his notebook. “Um...” I sighed. “Michael? I um, I read your notebook.”
Instantly, it looked like Michael’s heart fell to the floor. “Y-you...what?”
“I read your notebook, I’m so sorry!”
“Alex, that notebook is private! Only I get to read it! You know that!” Michael shouted.
“I know! I know! I’m sorry! I just...you had been acting so weird and I wanted you to be happy, and I thought that by reading that I’d be able to tell what was wrong!” I looked at Michael. He looked like he literally...hated me. I tried to blink away some tears that were coming. “And I know that you didn’t want me to read anything in that notebook, but I really wanted to know what was bothering you, but then I decided that I’d only read like the five most recent pages, and I did, and then you said that you thought that you love me and-”
“Yeah.” Michael said. “I thought that I did. I thought. But you don’t actually like me, do you? You were just lying to make me feel better, right? I get it. Yeah. Alex, you are such a bitch!” Michael turned and stormed into his dressing room, leaving me, heartbroken in the hallway, not knowing of anything I could say to make him change his mind about what he had just said.
