bit of an update
Ok, here's the skinny on what happened to my minibook:
Someone hit me with a virus through my yahoo email account and it hit with a MONSTER spider/worm thingie. It attached itself to anything and everything admin account available and so I am online for a bare few minute to let you all know what's going on.
I made a mistake in the name I gave before, it Is Not Windows Pilot Pro! It IS Windows Police Pro and it is one hell of a doozy of a crapload and I have to get my whole minibook reformatted and restructured. Yup, lost every bit of info I had to link me to anyone/anything I held near and dear, including the book I was working on, it's gone- buhbye. Every exclamation point and period of it. *sigh*
The only reason we found out that it came through yahoo was that we thought it had been blasted clean of the system and when I tried to check my mail, there it was again, blocking my access to Everything. I didn't even get as far as tapping the link into my mail, all I did was enter my name and started to type the passcode and that was all it took to reactivate the bloody thing. *shakes head*
Have made a new email account at AOL, but that will be rather hard to get to for the next bit because as it stands, I can't go back to it until I get the mini fixed, robling unit let me borrow this thing for now, but not for long and for what it's worth, probably not ever again. I need to remember every company I was listed with, need to contact them and update my mail info and pray that they do not get infected because they are listed in my yahoo address book along with I can't remember how many just plain friends that might have gotten this crap thing attacking them as well.
I am so sorry for anyone that it hit if it came through my email account, Gods know I am, but it just wasn't my fault, it hit me by going through a friend, and now I am in that same place she was the other day, though I don't know if she has a page somewhere that she can warn people through, like I have this place and Twitter and a couple others. I just hope someone finally finds it's parent location and wipes it off the map asap. Would be nice to be able to go to my 'home' mailbox again, been there for over a decade, kinda miss it, know what I mean?
Anyway, that's the situation right now. Blessed to let you all know the correct info finally, sorry it took so long, it was well hidden and listed as a couple things at first before we found the core of it. Just be very careful out there, would be sad if this happened to any of you. I'm a spacecadet, so it's kinda ok, ya know? Just s*** happens and you learn to deal, or you manage to create a bombshelter. ;)
