It will vary here for those students coming over. I don't confess to know if Canadian dating 'rules' are much different than the way American ones are, whether they're more lax or more thoughtful.. in the u.s. it seems that a lot of people still value dating people singularly once they've gotten to that point where they regard the other person as special enough, though a lot of them also tend to be very arbitrary on what is defined as improper conduct amongst other people while within that relationship.
So they'll have to be aware and use their discretion if they do start trying out the scene. As a broadly secular culture despite much religious exposure and throwing around of Christian terminology in the national and global media, the value on chasteness and looking out for the welfare of the other person's spiritual well-being won't be as present as in some communities that recognize the damage that can be done that way. Their expectations will vary for sexual intimacy--some out there do value witholding it until marriage, yet there's also the gamut beneath that, from very thoughtless attitudes of casual sex even to the better (though still short-sighted and harmful) choice to not engage in it except in the bounds a very loyal (but lacking the marriage commitment) relationship.
Thanks for sharing your opinion .. I already had the meeting with the ss' who are prompt to travel. I think the meetings went well i may say. We had to be very careful with the things we said. We basically focus on being aware , enjoyotheir experience but thinking before acting.. lalal.. we ca't be that conservative with the thigns we say but we could only give them an overview of the differences they may see and experience with American friends ,.... gracias again :-)
