Happy Canada Day, Canadians! Our day off isn't until Friday, but I'm really looking forward to a long weekend. Not that I have any plans, I'm just excited for sleeping in and having both of my roommates out of town.
Speaking of which, I have two roommates now (again). Usually it's just me and the guy who owns the house, but the spare bedroom is starting to be a clearing house for incoming members of the department. First, we had a Columbian grad student for a couple months and now we have a guy who just graduated high school and is doing a summer internship with one of the profs. His parents are only 3 hours away and he doesn't really know anyone here, so he goes home fairly often.
In other news, I've started playing ultimate again. It's lots of fun, but is it really necessary to only have an organized league during the most muggy and miserable months? Also, turf fields are really nice to play on until you layout (or slip and fall, in my case). My poor knees are raspberry and sting far more than an actual deep cut could hurt.
