Brave Brave Sir Jo-hon

For his entire political career, John McCain has been a devoted anti-government-regulationist. Don't shackle the poor corporations! Give business free rein! Let the market work it out! etc. That is, up until last Tuesday, when the U.S. economy imploded from 30+ years of NeoCon supply-side economics, and McCain suddenly got religion and decided that hey, government regulation is The Way To Go Hallelujah!!!

Today John McCain decided that, even though he hasn't voted in Washington for five months or more, Our Government NEEDED Him!!! So in a Bravely Sacrificial Gesture, he suspended his campaign so that he could Go To Washinton and SAVE AMERICA Hallelujah!!!!

What -- that scheduled Presidential debate this coming Friday? Aw geez... guess we'll just have to suspend that! Rats.

And of course it's purely a coincidence that this would mean he couldn't answer any awkward questions about the economy or his (up-until-last-Tuesday) anti-regulationist policies or his contributions to economic corruption and meltdown (*cough*Keating Five*cough*) until he'd had at least another week to concoct some spin formulate some answers, and that the Presidential debate would replace the VICE Presidential debates next week, which would mean then that Poor Picked-On Sarah couldn't then debate Joe Biden.

Awwwww..... shucky darn!!! Rats!!! What a crying shame!!!!

But SUCH is the SELFLESS DEVOTION of John McCain to this COUNTRY.

Why, he even had to cancel his appearance on The David Letterman Show! He had to RUSH, right away, to Washington, doncha know! (Um... right after he does an interview with Katie Couric, right down the hall. And makes some veal picatta with Rachel Ray. And stops for a mani/pedi. And .....)

He bravely turned his tail and fled
Yes brave Sir Jo-hon turned about
And gallantly he chickened out...."
