So you're a rock climber as well - I might have known :-)
Is that Sarah Croke in the far left corner of the Perimeter picture, with the glowing red eyes? We started our PhDs together, although she finished rather more quickly than me.
Sorry to hear about the accident, but glad that C's mom is OK.
Hi, I have added you to friends. I am theoretic physician working in quantum gravity in the DIY (do it yourself) philosophy, that is, nobody pays me for doing research.
I am aware of your E8 model and the polemic it has created. I must say that your, as far as I know, one of the very few physicians, not to say a known one, having a livejournal (instead of a blog, I mean) so I have decided to add you as a fiend. Hopo it wouldn´t disturb you. If so, I would delete you as a friend, no problem at all, of course.
Most of my entries are in Spanish, but ocasionally I write some in english. Anyway, if you would be interested in it beyond the journal I have a blog dedicated to quantum gravity (http://freelance-quantum-gravity.blogspot.com/) that may be you could find interesting. In both, the journal and the blog, I did an entry about your famous paper.
How's the surfin'. I have been pretty stoked about reading your paper. I finally picked it up, and I must say that it's totally gnarly! Tubular! Whooooa! Whooooooooooaa! Dude! Surfs up.
