I was spoiled...

... by Lake Aurora. I never knew it though until this last week. I mean, I had heard that LA is awesome, but sometimes you just need to see it with your own eyes.

I went to Tri-state Christian Camp this past week. It is in lovely Defuniak Springs, located only 3 hours east of Tallahassee. It was a 6 hour drive. Holy crap. Any way, I get there and Kane starts telling me about it. There is one building that is the common building that serves as the chapel and the dining hall. The dorms are 10 feet away from that building. This all only matters because there wasn't a lot of space to be.

Once we got to the meeting I surveyed the situation, and noticed that most of the people there looked overwhelmed. So, when Dan Cole announced that they were one female counselor short, I stepped up and volunteered. This meant that I had the entire dorm of girls to myself. Not a big deal, I can handle it.

Then they announced that they needed someone with some kind of medical experience, any kind at all. As a lifeguard, I was the only one. I was the camp nurse for the week, passing out meds at meals, handing out bandaids, and telling kids that their bug bites arent going to kill them.

On monday they realized that the reason that I have medical experience was because I was a lifeguard, and they asked me to do that during all free time - thus I have absolutely no time to myself.

On tuesday the guy leading the music asked if I wanted to provide the female vocals for the rest of the week. I declined.

At LA there are staff who take care of all of these jobs. I still can't find a great adjective to describe how I felt about the whole thing.

Wednesday my girls decided that it was going to be prank night. They wanted to get the boys... But the thing of it was that they wanted to go at 3 in the morning. After some redirection we convinced them to go later in the morning. That being 5:00. After all of the girls settled down, and the boys stopped terrorizing them, we went to sleep, @ 2. So I got 3 hours of sleep before they all got up to plan this big thing. We didnt have to be up until 8. So I was only being tantalized with sleep for the next 3 hours as they ran in and out of the cabin, waiting to see the boys reaction. I was not a happy camper.

We got them back. All other pranks were haulted, so during the bunk check we took care of it. They do video bunk check, so that you can see the video of how clean and dirty things were. We took all of their shoes and dropped them out into the middle of the woods. Then we took Jolly ranchers and put them in the shower pipe (unscrewed the head), so that hopefully they would be sticky and fruity flavored. I have heard that this works better when you use beef bulion cubes. That is sick.

Anyway, then I had to drive 6 hours back. It was a week to remember, and I will always keep in mind that LA is pretty much is the most awesomist.
