I want to preen Jack's pinfeathers. (Does he let you do that? My lovebird Gypsy doesn't really let me do it, but he likes head scritches so I sneak in some preening anyway.) Socute. :>
No, he's terrified of fingers and to a lesser extent hands. He won't let anything remotely handlike near him at any time. I have toweled him and picked them off before, but it stresses him out so much it's hardly worth it to me. They don't seem to bother him -too- much, and he likes to rub his head against his toys to take care of the itchiness he does get.
Still, though, I wish he'd let me scratch his head at least.
Ah, my first lovebird Rhoda was like that. She could not stand hands at ALL. Dunno why, but she was a bird we caught in our backyard so I guess she was bound to have mysterious idiosyncrasies like that. I understand the feeling. I wanted to scratch her head so bad before. Now I have Gypsy who loves head scratches but won't snuggle or sleep on our shoulder like Rhoda did.
